Rivers the Arteries of Land and Life

Image
Introduction The overdue rains are a welcome change arriving late February 2020. The rivers have swollen and are running with an abundance of water flushing their systems coursing a route to the awaiting oceans which define the magnificent Australian coastline. To Kayak or not to Kayak is the thought constantly gnawing away, so down the kayak came from the shed roof and preparation has commenced.  The Hunter River is a hidden jewel of NSW carving approximately a 300Klm secluded course from Scone to Newcastle where she is greeted by the Blue Pacific Ocean. This prominent water course is probably not often explored in length due to its somewhat restricted water flow in Australia's unpredictable dry climate.
